Lucian Arther
Indie Author
I am a POC and LGBTQ+ author and strive to include as much diversity within my novels’ casts as possible. My stories focus on the overlooked members of society and just how powerful we can be when given the chance.
Originally from the Pacific Northwest, I grew up admiring and appreciating the natural world, a sentiment that I always try to spread through my stories. I now reside in Daytona Beach, Florida with my cat, working towards my physics degree when I’m not writing.
In my free time, I like to dance, read, and explore new parks and cities. Sci-fi is a very speculative genre, but I love to take inspiration from my environment and include real-world elements. I believe that art is a reflection of our world and I aim to illuminate messages within my stories that will resonate with a diverse range of readers.

The Light of Erde-Zwei
After environmental calamity swept across the Earth, humanity started over, sending their best and brightest across the stars to colonize the planet Erde-Zwei.
Mai Achebe, a physicist, is fortunate that she and her wife have been requested for one of the missions to the new planet, but once there, she struggles to adapt. As a scientist, she's set adrift in her new world, unable to grasp the workings of a planet that doesn't seem to follow any of the rules she's accustomed to.
To take her mind off work, Mai spends her free time observing the alien race that resides beyond the human settlement. They're a powerful species with abilities far beyond anything Mai could have ever dreamed of, and the best part is, they're entirely peaceful... unless her superiors have been keeping things from her.
When an attack on the settlement shatters its walls, Mai and her wife find themselves amongst a curious group of survivors trying to navigate the perilous forests of Erde-Zwei where the mushrooms are as bright as flash grenades, the trees laugh and dance in harmony with the invisible entities in the sky, and dangerous creatures lurk just beneath the forest floor.
But survival never comes without sacrifice, and Mai must decide how much of herself she's willing to lose to make it in the new world.
