Matthew Castle
Indie Author
Matthew Castle is a writer and teacher who blends heart, heat, and a touch of darkness in every story.
I started reading as a kid. Life can be hard sometimes and this book provided me what I call the great escape. It gave me peace and it gave me wonder. It made me feel emotions I had never felt before and transported me to a world that I needed. This book was Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings.
Fast forward to being a teen and losing touch with books. My teacher provided a spark in me in my Shakespeare class that brought me back to books for another reason: writing. I wanted to give others the gift given to me: The Great Escape. Emotions and a portal to another world. Writing saved me. Reading saved me.
I am a single dad, a teacher in early child education and I am an indie author. I started out writing nonfiction shorts that became something bigger and led me to fiction. It led me to writing the stories I’ve always wanted to write. There’s nothing more exciting than getting a message from readers saying your book helped them or that they loved it. It drives me personally to keep writing everyday.

Will It Be Us?
As I showered, I thought about my mama’s wedding ring in my top sock drawer under my Dan Marino magazines, the greatest QB of all time in my opinion, cannot change my mind. That ring had been passed down through generations and if there was one thing I knew, even more so than football, was that Christy Jackson loved me and I loved her more than anything and that never would change. So regardless of this game or what college I go to or if I just follow my dad’s footsteps and stay on the farm, I am going to marry Christy Nicole Jackson. And that ring was hers. So, champion, or not, after the game, I am asking her to marry me, right there where the Dallas Cowboys play on Sundays. Dad knows. He also knows despite what he says, nothing, not even football will keep me from Christy.

Some promises never fade.
Some love stories refuse to die.
Jack Hamilton was Grace High’s golden boy quarterback. Now he’s the coach trying to hold a fractured team together — and himself. Years ago, Christy Jackson vanished, leaving nothing but a trail of questions and a promise Jack refuses to break: Find me.
When a new lead stirs old ghosts, Jack is torn between chasing the past and protecting what’s still in front of him — a daughter who’s caught in the crossfire, a freshman quarterback carrying more than his share, and a small town ready to choose sides. Under the Friday night lights, the lines between victory and loss blur, and Jack must decide what peace is worth.
Life can take your breath away… but love can sustain it.
