April Indie Book Spotlight-Deranged Trilogy
This month, Indies&Ink is spotlighting The Deranged Trilogy, a dark romance series filled with vengeance, insanity, twisted loyalty, and morally gray choices. This is not your typical love story, it’s one that thrives in the shadows.
Perfect for readers who see trigger warnings as a preview rather than a warning, this 18+ series takes you on a chaotic ride through fear, desperation, and the unraveling of the mind.
Ginger Moonwitch pulls readers deep into a dark and unsettling journey of self-discovery. The story follows Red, a young and seemingly innocent woman whose life takes a brutal turn after a Tinder date gone wrong, ending with her being sold to a set of deranged captors.
What follows is anything but predictable.
Forced into a series of twisted games and training, Red is pushed to become something she never imagined: a killer. But as the truth unfolds, she realizes her captor isn’t just one man, it’s three.
Deranged triplets.
Each with their own personality, their own darkness, and their own vision of what she should become.

Author Interview:
What part of the book was the most fun to write? I really enjoyed writing the isolation/psychosis scenes.
Which of the characters do you relate to the most and why? Red. The trilogy as a whole is a reflection of myself in many different ways. Red was based off of myself. Now while I obviously did not go through what she did, I relate to her mental state.
If you’re planning a sequel, can you share a tiny bit about your plans for it? In the trilogy, you meet and read a lot about Green. Greens spin off is in the works. Readers will finally find out what happened to Green and how her life has been since the auction.
What inspired the idea for your book? When I first became a reader, I did not know dark romance existed. Romance has never been my thing, and I was in search of something darker. After writing 15 chapters, I deleted it all. Then, fast forward to January 2025, I met an author (Ivy graves) she asked if I was a writer and I opened up about the 15 chapters that went in the trash. She inspired me to try again.
What was your hardest scene to write, and why? Book 3 as a whole. While I love the book and her revenge, it was like I went through a breakup. Yes, the characters will be seen in other books, but they will not be the main focus.
How did you come up with the title for your book? It was a lot of trial and error. In the end, I wrote a list of potential ideas until I landed on the titles.
Would you and your main character get along? 100%
If you could meet your characters, what would you say to them?
Alpha, pull the stick out of your ass
Bravo, eat a normal meal
Charlie, my sweet boy
Red, you are a badass.
The Deranged Trilogy is not for the faint of heart, but for the right reader, it’s an intense, addictive experience that’s hard to look away from.
Making A Weapon is Book 1 in the Deranged Trilogy. It is a pitch black unconventional romance between Red and the triplets. Please check the trigger warnings (60+) at the beginning of the book. This trilogy is for the mature readers of the 18+ variety. This is not a guide for what a healthy relationship entails and is a work of fiction! YOUR MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS!
